A question on Necro weapons
2day I was Farming like always. And a Necro in this FoW group I was in.
Ask if I can bring Spinal. I told it that you should bring Spinal cause I dont use cold dmg. Well the Necro told me every Necro weapon is cold dmg. Is this true. Is Dark dmg the same as Cold dmg. I never thought about it. Or even gave a damn. Plus this Necro keep bitching about it. Thx Last edited by Spiteful Soul; Apr 11, 2006 at 10:23 AM // 10:23.. |

No way. I think a majority if not all Curses staves deal cold damage, but blood and death deal dark. I could be mistaken on which deals which, but it's something like that. Dark damage is alot like Light damage on smiting staves in that it deals a kind of damage that cannot be guarded against (doesn't cause elemental or physical so no extra armor vs. it).

Spanks that's what I figured. And if you are wondering she the other Necro was dressed in FoW armor. Telling be all this BS. And this was the first that someone ask me to bring Spinal in FoW.
And for the dmg wise. Dark dmg is Curses unless is a Green. Cold is Death for Bone staves maybe for all skins don't know. Blood I can't tell ya cause I don't use Blood. |

Unless there is anything different, blood is dark dmg., curses is dark dmg, unless it is villnar's (green) weapons, death is cold dmg. At least those are the type of weapons that I currently have on my necro.

Spinal shivers can be a big help in FoW against monks. If they were asking you to bring it, you shouldn't be the only one with the ability to deal cold dmg. She should have provided a way herself or more likely ask if the warryior had an icy weapon to be able to switch to when the need arises.

I concur (fancy-talk FTW)... and I like what Cherno said about the warrior using an icy weapon. I actually played a warrior build for a while using spinal shivers and an icy axe, worked pretty well since all my other skills were adrenaline-based.

the problem with a warrior using cold and a necro casting shivers is it takes away what little energy the tank has right, -5 per interupt?

It takes away energy from the caster, and the energy depends on how high they have their curses set. I think mine is set at 16 and the energy loss per hit is -6, if I use awaken the blood, I believe it goes down to -5 per hit. I don't think that a warrior can get his curses high enough so that his energy loss per hit is low enough to be useful.
